The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Brothers Vineyard is classic in style and elegant in balance. Winemaker Diana Snowden Seysses likes its “energy and cut” featuring notes of “plums, black cherries, blood orange, and graphite." On the heels of with a winter of very low rainfall, the growing season was otherwise ideal, with the moderate, even temperatures historically typifying the Napa Valley growing season. The dry year featured smaller clusters and berries, so a higher skin to juice ratio, resulting in increased richness – but also an ideal balance among the fruit, tannins, and other acids. The Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested on September 12 and blended with 1% Petit Verdot picked on September 30. Fermented by wild, native yeasts, the wine was aged for 19 months in French oak, 30% new, and bottled in May of 2023. 332 cases of 750 mL bottles were produced.

Nestled in a modest and beautiful valley in Arroyo Grande, our Grenache vines often see cold, brisk days with constant, salty winds from the Pacific Ocean. Like many vines in the Rincon Vineyard, they endure some extreme growing conditions and these vines make us wait. Every sunny day is needed to achieve ripeness and our Grenache grapes are always some of the last we harvest each season.
But, as they say, good things take time. This is true of the 2022 Grenache with a mouthwatering and zingy finish that delivers notes of pomegranate and cardamom.

Located on the east-facing, mid-slopes of Spring Mountain, this site began its growing season on April 19th. Although bloom occurred at the beginning of June, it yielded a healthy fruit set. Morning sunshine nurtured the crop through summer, and a final warming event in the last week of September brought the fruit to ripeness. Harvest began on October 2nd and, after 17 distinct passes, concluded ten days later.
Dense and dark, yet dappled with exuberant points of light, the wine combines forest notes with piercing radiance. The pronounced backbone of tannin buoys an abundance of detail, and while—like the shadowy turn in a wooded path that leads to a clearing—these elements seem to taper briefly, they open once again onto an effulgent, lifted finish.

MFN Blanc Chardonnay bursts from the glass with aromas of Meyer lemon, yellow apple, Asian pear and just a hint of pineapple. Underneath the fruit lies complex base notes of flint, vanilla, nutmeg, and cardamom. Surrounding all these aromas is an open sensation of freshness, like a wave crashing upon the shore. That saline component is mirrored on the palate, complemented by juicy, mouthwatering acidity and a long mineral finish. Rounding out the palate are flavors of crème fraiche and toffee offering balance and the desire for just one more sip. This wine is a perfect white to be enjoyed year-round.$87.00
Upon first impression the wine appears a bit restrained and reticent; mineral driven notes of petrichor and flint tantalize the senses. Its unassuming nature, however, quickly gives way to bursts of citrus blossom, stone-fruit, and ripe tropical notes of pineapple and guava. These aromas dance with each swirl of the glass and compliment the more complex notes that reveal themselves: nutmeg, clove, sourdough leaven, and even notes of marzipan. The palate evokes a similar array of tastes, but also dazzles with a supple texture, and mouth-watering finish that lasts an eternity.Sold Out

Deep ruby color almost all the way to the rim. Initial aromas of cocoa, butterscotch, dark berry and evergreen. In pre-release tasting, tannins still had a firm grip on this wine, but with air, aromas soften and deepen, and more fruit and spice emerges—in contrast to the more immediately accessible 2014 wines. Decanting highly recommended. Canyon Road Winery owns 140 acres of vineyards. The majority of the grapes for its wines are sourced from coastal appellations and selected Northern California vineyards. The California appellation is part of the key to the brand's success, since it allows winemakers to roam prime California sources for just the juice they want.
Associate Winemaker Christopher Munsell and Assistant Winemaker Ondine Chattan are the young, dynamic winemaking duo at the head of Canyon Road who are passionate about one thing: making high-quality wines a part of Americans' everyday dining experience. The winemakers work closely with local growers to assure quality fruit, vinify the lots of grapes separately, and then blend the lots before aging (as opposed to aging each lot and then blending.) This technique—and the expertise used to balance the characteristics of each lot against others—creates smooth, well-integrated wines of complexity and depth.
