Commanderie de la Bargemone Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence Rosé
The origins of this estate go back to the 13th century when it was the property of the Knights Templar. The large 400-acre vineyard has produced this fine rich wine, full of ripe red fruits and with a bright herbal edge. It is bone dry, crisp and ready to drink.
Named after an old estate located in the heart of Domaine Lafage, Mas Miraflors, the Miraflors Rosé is sourced from old vines of Grenache Gris and Noir, some nearing 80 years old, planted near the Mediterranean. Added to this is some Mourvedre that Jean-Marc planted here about 15 years ago. This a direct press rosé with the color coming from the skins of the pink Grenache Gris berries, and naturally, from the much darker Mourvedre and Grenache Noir. It is aged in tank for 4 months before bottling.

An incredibly fragrant nose full of sweet apricot and gingery spice. The palate is luscious and generous, but has great acid which tightens the wine, adding freshness and a clean crisp finish. Slight pithy feel which builds on the spice notes. Lovely as a fresh stand alone drink that still exhibits some mouthfeel, or equally well adapted to enjoying with a range of foods from freshly shucked oysters through to spicy Thai style dishes.
This wine's intense pink rose petal color is slightly darker and more robust than the rosés of nearby Provence, which is indicative of the wine itself. A nose of macerated strawberries, raspberries, and peaches, with a faint earthy and peppery base, comes together with a fresh clay minerality on the soft, round, and slightly weighty palate.

Sylvain’s rosé is a pure 100% Gamay delight, an easily approachable wine for all. This unique combination of grapes always produces a wine with a pleasant aromatic character and the 2020 is no exception. It has aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, baked apples, cinnamon and a touch of creamy lemon custard. From a singular vineyard block near the Napa River, this wine is crisp and dry with vibrant, ripe flavors of guava, apricot, honeysuckle, green apple, lemon zest and candied lemon peel. Tropical fruit aromas are complemented by floral notes and a grassy character. These complex aromas and bright fruit are preserved beautifully through meticulous practices by our Winemaker including gentle hand-harvesting and a cool fermentation in stainless steel. Post-fermentation lees contact adds a layer of creamy richness to the finish.
