“The 2016 offers alluring, energetic aromas and flavors of honeysuckle, kiwi, apricot, citrus zest, pineapple, and toasted almond – a dazzling, juicy bowl of exotic fruit held together with flinty structure, pleasing minerality, and refreshing acidity.”
— Shafer winemaker Elias Fernandez
“This is a perennially impressive wine, floral in a heady perfume of white roses. Fresh and fleshy, the expansive palate offers concentrated flavors of kiwi and pineapple … ending bright in juicy acidity.”
— Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast
“Bold apricot, yellow plum, bruised yellow apple fruit, laced with vanilla crème, whipped honey – notes of seashell – wow – pure and vibrant despite the intense richness of the wine. A gorgeous, stunning Napa Chardonnay ...”
— Isaac Baker, Terroirist
“… deep, intense, apple and stone fruit aroma with spicy and tropical notes, and hints of honeysuckle and lemon zest; medium-full body; deep, rich, ripe, layered, citrus, apple, and stone fruit flavors with good depth and acid balance, well integrated oak, mineral notes, and a plush, slightly creamy mouthfeel; lingering aftertaste … Very highly recommended.”

Upstream from Bordeaux along the Garonne River lie the vineyards of Buzet, just north of Armagnac and southwest of Cahors. Buzet was recognized as an Appellation in 1973, as it’s clay limestone soils are ideal for Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Christophe tends to these vines with the utmost respect for biodiversity of the terroir and this cuvée is vinified without oak.
This Buzet Beauty is a 50/50 blend of Cabernet and Merlot that will remind you what it’s all about... Beaming nose of tiny berries and silky, velvety tannins. An absolute delight!

Illahe Vineyards Estate Pinot Noir begins with strawberry, tamarind, and blackberry then broaden along the palate to include chalk, tobacco leaf, chocolate, and earth. The acid supports a complete yet not overwhelming tannin balanced between skin and oak. The wine retains its velvet mouthfeel through a process of clarification by racking.
