Provençal folklore tells us that the Cicada was sent from heaven to sing, waking people from their afternoon naps and signaling a return to work. Cicada’s Song is more impetuous. It emanates soulfully from your glass, inviting you to enjoy life through its Provençal lens – a lazy afternoon with friends, tasty fare, any and all things golden. Wine should have a sense of place, and Cicada’s Song is just that — Provence in a bottle. 50% Grenache, 50% Mourvedre A brilliant light pink color with aromas of fresh red fruits and sweet white flower. On the palate the wine is round, fruity, with a good minerality and vivacity sustained by the Mourvedre, and a refreshing finish.

A very light yellow color, smallish bubbles. On the nose there is fresh baked hard crusted bread with some slate and minerals. On the palate this is light and lively, with citrus. Delightful and fresh, with some warm golden apple.
All about precision and texture. There's clearly a lot of concentration and underlying power in the focused core. It's chalky and all sinew on the almost chewy, lengthy finish, giving it line and energy. The scent of almond croissant from barrel fermentation and lees time lingers alongside apple fruit. Really good stuff that will only get better with time in bottle.

Graphite, chocolate cake, crushed mulberries, and grilled steak notes make an appearance along the way and add to a long and complex finish.
This Côtes de Provence vintage was low-yielding and high quality, a fine balance between fruit complexity and fresh thirst-quenching acidity. This is a project born out of friendship and a longing to return to ones roots. Master Sommelier and proprietor of Miura Vineyards, Emmanuel Kemiji and Chefs Gerald Hirigoyen, Sylvain Portay and Laurent Manrique. In 2010 a winery was finally completed and over time the production will reach a scant 2500 cases but the object here has never been commercial and is instead driven by quality and pride. The name Clos Pissarra is derived from the Catalan word for slate, as this is the soil that covers the regions of Montsant (sacred mountain) and Priorat (priory), that lie about 85 miles southwest of Barcelona.

"2008 was a dry but even vintage with a smooth ripening of the fruit throughout the summer. This was our second vintage for El Mont and while it is uncommon in Priorat to find bottlings exclusively made out of Grenache (most wines found here are blends of Carignan and Grenache that sometimes contain traces of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah) I feel very strongly that the alluring aromas, focus and purity of fine Grenache makes for a very elegant and intense wine."
Rich but fresh, with a mix of cassis, dark plum and blackberry purée notes cruising through and enlivened by light garrigue, tobacco and warm stone accents. A savory-laced grip through the finish adds to the level of detail. Best from 2023 through 2036.
