Harvest is done only by hand on this wine, and grapes are sorted and partially destemmed (40%). The vinification is in the Burgundy style, i.e. slow and soft grape pressing, and vatting for 10 days. Fermentation lasts one month and then the wine ages in large cement tanks. Marine makes Morgon, Julienas and Brouilly in addition to this glorious Beaujolais-Villages.

Buzet was recognized as an Appellation in 1973, as it’s clay limestone soils are ideal for Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Christophe tends to these vines with the utmost respect for biodiversity of the terroir and this cuvée is vinified without oak.

Touraine: the heart of the Loire Valley, home of the great châteaux, and the garden of France. This region’s range of climates and diversity of soils are a treasure trove for the winelover. On the left bank of the Loire’s tributary river Cher, not far from the stunning Château de Chenonceau, lie the vineyards of our vigneron Luc Poullain. Vines up to 70 years old grow on complex soils of sandy siliceous clay and limestone, sustainably farmed with lush grasses growing between the rows. Our Touraine is a sublimely grassy, citrussy expression of its terroir, nuanced and invigorating.

Odile Delpon inherited the family vineyards, tobacco farm, and saffron plantation in Albas in 1968. She developed the winery with her husband Claude, until their son Didier Pelvillain took over a few decades ago.
There is less wine made now, but the quality is much higher. Yields are much lower and grape selection is important. Soils here are clay and limestone. Didier farms at the highest level of sustainability and biodynamic conversion is in process. Only indigenous yeasts are used. Vines average 32 years old.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is a bold, powerful wine. Super-ripe dark black cherry, licorice and chocolate all build in the glass. The 2017 is a solid entry-level wine in the range, but there is no getting around the slightly grainy, rough-around-the-edges tannins in this vintage.
