The wine starts out with a deep ruby color. On the nose, the wine is full of cherry and blackberry fruits, which continue on the palate. What sets this Shiraz apart is the intensity of this ripe fruit, which is just as intense on the finish as when the wine first hits your tongue. The finish has a mineral-graphite edge that balances the fruit nicely. In all, it drinks far, far, above its price point.

Forward, seductive and plush, this opens with a bouquet of blackberry jam, black tea, mint and boysenberry jam. This leads to ripe flavors of black cherry, eucalyptus, red raspberry and coffee grounds.
Oak spiciness lights up the bouquet and flavors of this full-bodied firmly tannic wine. It's not as heavy in alcohol as some, but is very rich in flavors of black plums and blackberries, black pepper and light oak char, and has a good, grippy texture.
Based on a blend of Alder Springs Grenache & Castelli-Knight Ranch Grenache, this wild and exotic blend really screams southern Rhone. We co-fermented a bit of Syrah with the Castelli Grenache so there is a dark spicy core, but really this wine is all about the wild side of Grenache.
Tasting Note: Wild aromas of white flowers, game, forest floor and tiny red berries. The palate is medium-full and supple with clean berry fruit and an exotic wildness to this classic blend, which adds character and an added dimension of earthy complexity.
