or ExitSouthern Prohibition Beer Tasting on Thursday 9/20/18
The launch of our 'Thirsty Thursday Beer Tastings' began in 2018. As popularity of our beer tastings gained, we could no longer limit them just to Thursdays. We had a beer tasting at least once every 2 weeks!
Although our on-premise consumption is on pause, some of our favorite breweries continue to produce new beers and we continue a great relationship with them to be on their allocation list as new brews are released. This Throwback Thursday was September 20, 2018 with Southern Prohibition Brewing from Hattiesburg, MS. We all know it’s still warm in September and we wanted to make the food pairings cool and refreshing for this beer tasting…SALSAs!! The house favorite was the ‘End of Summer Watermelon Salsa’.
Southern Prohibition has recently released a Pineapple & Strawberry Light. I decided to change up the salsa recipe to something new to pair with this refreshing beer. Enjoy!
3 roma tomatoes
2 serrano peppers
1/2 cup finely chopped sweet onion
1/3 cup chopped cilantro
1 cup diced pineapple
1 cup diced strawberries 1⁄2 Tablespoon lime-juice
Slice tomatoes in half and with a sharp knife remove the seeds. Then diced finely. Place in a bowl. Cut the Serrano peppers lengthwise, remove veins and seeds with a knife and chop finely. Mix tomato, peppers, onion, cilantro, and pineapple in the bowl, add the lime juice, and season with salt.

A spritz is a perfect apéro cocktail, refreshing and low-alcohol. It opens the palate instead of overwhelming it, making it an ideal pairing with whatever delicious snacks you are serving.
We are honored to have been one of the very few independent retail wine stores to be allocated a bottle of the 2020 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti ÉCHÉZEAUX...
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti wines are some of the most expensive in the world! It is a combination of three factors: very high quality, reputation and exclusivity, and consequently supply and demand.
