The 2012 BenMarco Cabernet Sauvignon is a ripe version of Cabernet with small amounts of other Bordeaux varieties and roasted aromas of charred wood, ripe plums, blackberries and cassis. The palate is medium-bodied, with the telltale texture of Cabernet, and has fine-grained, slightly dusty tannins and a licorice-tingled finish. A good, ripe Cabernet that is drinkable now, but should improve in bottle.
